As part of our continuing programme to upgrade the Village Hall facilities, we are delighted to announce that the fully licensed bar has now been extensively refurbished, making the Hall an even better venue for your next function.

The Village Hall is holding its Annual General Meeting at the Hall on Sunday, May 20th at 7pm. All are welcome to attend.
In a major upgrade of our facilities the Village Hall now offers Wi-fi, together with a huge pull-down screen and projector, making it perfect for film nights, business training events, computer clubs …. and so much more! And remember these are all FREE for Hall users!
Coming soon… A new and extensively refurbished bar!
The committee is delighted to announce that early in 2018 the Hall will have FREE WI-FI available to all users. We will also have a large pull-down screen and projector. So we will be the perfect venue for business away days and training events. Get in touch for more information.

Hosted by Emily and Bek. All welcome.

For our annual summer event this year at the Village Hall we are running a ‘Weekender’. Held over three days, from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, there are events for everyone.

We kick off on Friday with an evening of Salsa dancing fever. Never tried this before? No problem, we start with an introductory class for complete beginners and go from there!
Saturday night features classic Rock from local band Midlife Crisis, together with real ale from Blue Monkey. A potent combo!
Finally on Sunday afternoon we relax to the more gentle rhythms of an English Garden Party, the perfect end to the weekend.
Come and join us and celebrate summer at Starkholmes Village Hall!

We are pleased to announce that the Village Hall has undergone a substantial makeover in recent months.

Major improvements have been made to the heating and electrical systems, and in addition the hall has been fully redecorated. The overall result is a really comfortable and fresh environment for our guests and regular users.
The work has been facilitated in part by donations of £1500 from the Derbyshire Dales Better Projects Fund and £100 each from district councillors Steve Flitter, Deborah Botham and Jackie Stevens. We would like to sincerely thank them for their generous contributions.
Jeff Wheatley, president of the Village Hall Committee, said :
“Thanks to the donations we have had, and the hard work of the committee, who are all volunteers, we now have a venue to be proud of.
“The feedback from our regular user groups has been fantastic and we are getting more and more enquiries from new groups wanting to use the venue – although we do still have a few slots free for new groups to join.
“We are also seeing more people hiring the venue in the evening for birthday parties, engagements and weddings as we have a fully licensed bar. I am sure everyone who attends will be impressed with the venue we now have.”
