Minute Taker (Secretary)

The Village hall are looking for someone to join us on the committee and take the minutes of the monthly meetings. It doesn’t have to be word for word, just a flavour of what was said. Then it’s a matter of typing it up and emailing it to the committee.

If you can spare a couple of hours on a Sunday evening once a month to help this would be great as the committee is under strength and if we are to keep the village hall going we need help. Also if there any people who would like to join the committee to help run the hall we would like to hear from you. We need new blood and new ideas. It’s a great hall and we are doing well with bookings we just need help please. Thanks for reading.

Welcome!

Welcome to the Starkholmes Village Hall web site.

The Hall has undergone extensive recent refurbishment in recent years and has a stage, new kitchen, fully licensed bar and disabled toilet facilities, making it an excellent venue. The Hall is also equipped with Wi Fi and a large pull down screen and projector. These facilities are free to all users.

The Hall is available for hire on an hourly basis for use by regular user groups or by villagers wishing to arrange individual events such as birthday parties, anniversaries and other celebrations.

Don Lambley – Former President, Starkholmes Village Hall

Former President of Starkholmes Village Hall, Don Lambley has died aged 89 on 22nd March, after a long illness.

He was a committee member of the Village Hall for 30 years, was actively involved in organising the hugely successful Starkholmes Gala, as well as being Licensee, Chairman and then President.

Current President, Jeff Wheatley said, “Don was a stalwart of the Village Hall over many years, working really hard behind the scenes. A huge supporter of the local community, he gave leadership to the Village Hall during its most successful years. He was always helpful to Village Hall committee members and will be sorely missed.”

Don was a former police inspector, worked as the county secretary for St John Ambulance and was awarded the MBE in 1985.
